I'm a 30 year old whirl wind woman with the energy of a caffeinated humming bird. I'm a positive outlook kind of person who has also been called, lovingly, "eccentric" (Thanks Mom!). I take it as a compliment!
I started Auggie-Talk Book Blog in 2012 with the intention to use it as a book journal, and maybe as a tool to connect with a few other book readers. Imagine my AMAZEMENT when the blog found a strong foothold. I have been over the moon happy with my opportunities to interact with the book world.
A few random facts about myself: I have my Masters in Library and Information Science with a specialization in Children's Literature. It takes me forever to tell a "quick story", I can't tell jokes correctly, and I'm not nearly as witty as my brothers. I believe in family, good food, board games, and, of course, the power of the written word.
In 2016 I became mama to a wonderful little boy. We affectionately call him "Boop". You'll also hear me refer to him as Bibliobaby. We've already started him on J.K. Rowling, Diana Wynne Jones, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Because, why not? Reading to someone you love is an entirely different and extraordinary experience that I hope everyone gets to enjoy at least once.
Life is magic and nothing makes it sweeter than love in your heart, dreams in your head, and a book in your hands.

(My Hero. I love her work and I was very saddened when she passed. I'm now properly collecting all of her books.)

Auggie met Tori at a bookstore, of course. Instant friends! When asked if she'd be interested in contributing to Auggie-Talk, Tori accepted happily and has been a very important addition to the book blog ever since.
I am a 25 year old tiny oddball of a woman. I have come to expect that life rarely listens when you huff and puff your way around like some surly old she-wolf. So instead, I have learned to embrace that which makes me quirky and lend an ear to a wonderful woman by the name of Doris Day:
“When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother
What will I be?
Will I be pretty?
Will I be rich?
Will I be rich?
Here’s what she said to me.
Que sera, sera.
Whatever will be, will be.
The future’s not ours to see.”
(She’s right. Just saying.)
As you would expect of someone born in the Deep South, I am quite a fan of my roots. I love being surrounded by beautiful mountains and trees and watching how the seasons paint a new picture for me every year. Cheesy? Yes. Do I care? Nope.
With that being said, I absolutely positively cannot wait to see what is beyond. Adventure in the great wide somewhere? Yes please. Therefore, my bucket list of destinations is ever growing and someday soon…I will start marking them off with my trusty purple pen. Until then, I shall continue to read about far-off places, love, and all manner of fantastically juicy voyages.
When Auggie and I first met, I knew that I had found a kindred. When she asked me to become a Contributing Reviewer, I was beyond thrilled! Getting to tell the world about my journeys with new books was the best gift a girl could ask for from a fellow bookworm.*Cough cough*…just take the compliment Auggie. My best friend and I? Yeah we share the need to awkwardly accept compliments like receiving a weird hug from an acquaintance that ends with a quick tap-tap on the shoulder before quickly retreating to our personal bubbles.
Anywho, I’m quite a lover of chocolate in all its forms and I ardently believe that it can indeed be served for breakfast. My oven, however, is strictly for shoes. Perhaps the odd mismatched sock that I’m saving can be used for any disgruntles house elves in hopes that they will stop hiding my keys every morning. Then again, it could just be my roly-poly fur baby, Perry, who likes to lay on them so that I will come give him extra loves before I depart for work and he has to entertain himself with shoes not located in the oven. Naw, I still blame the elves.
I am a fiend for knowledge. I adore researching completely random topics that I decide that I simply must know about: sharks, Aurora Borealis, Jupiter, etc. etc. etc. My mind is a cluttered web and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Well perhaps I would add strategically placed twinkle lights thrown about…because after all, who doesn’t like twinkle lights?
