Top Ten Books For Fall

Happy Tuesday, Biblionerds!

I'm back from the summer hiatus (very much needed), but now it's a mad dash to get things scheduled and worked out for the next month or two on the blog. The bibliophile-to-be is on his way and will arrive sometime in September. It's going to be a wild, magical ride but also extraordinarily busy (an understatement, I think we can all agree).

As I mentioned yesterday, thanks for sticking with me through the planned hiatus! Welcome back TOP TEN TUESDAY!

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. For future Top Ten Tuesday topics & info on how to participate, click here!

This week's top ten topic is:

"Heartless" by Marissa Meyer (YA) - You've got to love this woman's fairytale retellings. She's got a great new perspective on some classic tales and I can't wait to get my hand on this one!

"Time Keeper" Tara Sim (YA)- Steampunk. I need more of this in my life.

"Dead Girls Society" Michele Krys (YA) -Creepy books are my go-to for Fall, what with the entirety of October (and some of September) being a work up to Halloween at my house.

"A Taste for Monsters" by Matthew J. Kirby (YA)- Jack the Ripper? The man/woman/beast/hellion is a topic of some seriously disturbing horror literature. I'm not much into hyperly graphic ickiness but I'm interested to see where Kirby takes this story in a YA setting.

"Stalking Jack the Ripper" by Kerri Maniscalco (YA)- Read above - I'm assuming that this heroine is going to be completely kick-butt and that's an entire reason in and of itself to be looking forward to this book.

"Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" by Rick Riordan (MG) -Rick Riordan. Norse Gods. Enough said.

"The Evil Wizard Smallbone" by Delia Sherman (MG) -This looks like a book that is absolutely my style. Cranky old wizards and unsure apprentices? Yes.

"Wildings" by Eleanor (MG) -  A twin brother is kidnapped by the government and "relocated" due to his lack of magical ability. His sister is told to forget about him and move on as though he'd never existed, but she can't, she won't. Let the adventure begin!

"27 Magic Words" by (MG) -This seems to be one of those books that's going to confuse you over what's real in the character's world and what isn't. This is good. This is interesting.

"Enter a Glossy Web" by (MG) -This was one one of my previous lists. I completely looking forward to reading this. Magical maps, monsters and witches, wizards and interworld travel. Adventure! I'm in!

What books are you stockpiling for Autumn?

Auggie is the 29 year old whirlwind owner of Auggie-Talk. A bibliobibuli by nature and a (potentially obsessive) lover of Diana Wynne Jones and Neil Gaiman. Not so secrety secret: She's been known to consume too much caffeine leading to hyperactive rants about her heinous lack of shelving and the high likelihood that Hermione Granger is her spirit animal.

  1. The new book I am most looking forwards to is No Good Dragon Goes Unpunished (Heartstrikers #3 by Rachel Aaron). And I just recently started The Raven Cycle, so I will be continuing that.
