Month In Review - May 2016

Happy June, Book Babes!

To start off the new month here's a recap of LAST month.

Welcoming The Summer - I visited my family home for memorial day. There's something so wonderful and relaxing about being back in the house I grew up in. There are so many wonderful memories wandering around those rooms. We cooked out (veggie hot dogs and black bean burgers for moi!), talked and talked, and just enjoyed each other's company while celebrating all of those incredible people who serve(d) our country. My father, my older brother, my uncle, my grandfather... We remember the ones we've lost and embrace the ones who are still here and appreciate all of them endlessly.

Edit Edit Edit - I reached a wonderful, incredible, phenomenal goal. I finished the first draft of the MG Fantasy I'm working on. When I realized I was ready to start editing, I couldn't believe it. I had the draft printed to make it all an easier process (It's much more useful for me to use highlighters and pens) and when I held it in my hands my world felt huge and magnificent.

The editing process has so far been extremely rewarding, and I've enjoyed it immensely. There HAVE been hang ups and moments of doubt and moments of complete frustration - but overall I'm having a great time and forward momentum is satisfying.

Reading - I got quite a bit of reading done this month and I'm really happy to be somewhat caught up. Unfortunately, I'm still behind on ARCS. ACK! That means that June is going to be focused on getting as many of those taken care of as possible.

The blog's been clipping along at a steady pace too, which makes me giddy with joy! As always, I'm tremendously grateful to my readers (that's you, btw) who make this worthwhile. LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK, BIBLIONERDS!

Not so secrety secret: She's been known to consume too much caffeine leading to hyperactive rants about her heinous lack of shelving and the high likelihood that Hermione Granger is her spirit animal.
