New Auggie-Talk Things, A Peek into My TBR and Bout of Book Updates

Working non stop in the glorious glory that is the blogging world.

So far this year has been full of fantastic opportunities and new adventures and I'm reading up a storm (in so many different genres).

Let's have an update for our Challenges and Read-A-Thons and then it's back to work! (Even at this late hour!)

BOUT OF BOOKS
DAY 6

It's the final stretch, readers! Have you been tackling that reading pile of yours? Scaling the walls of literature to find new and exciting horizons? Of course you have! It's not over yet, so keep on reading!

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
As a reminder here's my GOAL POST

PROGRESS

(As of 11:00pm Day 6)

DONE!

256/ 256 pages. 100% done!

NEW BOOK!
I received an ARC copy of "The Mark of the Dragonfly" and couldn't wait to get started on it! So it became the 2nd book in my READ A THON goals. Hopefully I'll get to "House of Hades" as well, but that book is now Outside of my goal.

200/ 400 pages. 50% done!

BOOK 3 TO BE DETERMINED

So as part of my goals listed originally: I really really wanted to FINISH a book that I've started but hadn't yet completed reading. There's only 1 day left and a lot of pages to be read, but I think I can do it!

Day 10 and 11 of Parajunkee's New Year Blogger Challenge. Woo!

New Things You'll Be Doing This Year

Are we talking just the book blogging year? Because if we go in to the new things happening in 2014 for this book-reader we'd be here for quite a few pages. Okay, let's see. Auggie-Talk newness.

First thing there will be Author Services offered starting soon and hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be able to offer my lovely blog-peers website development services as well.

Trilogy Tuesday is being set aside because I honestly haven't been able to find enough Trilogies that I LOVED enough to keep reading (it's so sad! If you know of some that you think I'd go gaga over, please recommend!)

Auggie-Talk will be cross blogging and offering more Guest-Blogs this year. The Cross-Blogging will mostly be coming from "Sweet Talk Revolution" during the book review posts for health/wellness/self help books.

In general there's a LOT of growth going to be happening and I'm SO HAPPY that you're here to enjoy all of it with me. I love you so much. No. Seriously. I love you.

TBR Shelf: How Many?

Oh. Oh my. Let's see... right now? NOT counting the books that I haven't officially entered in to the TBR shelf calculator thingy (Good Reads is wonderful) 296. And it grows every day!

On my ACTUAL Physical  shelves there are about 160 TBRs that I own.

That's a rough count. I might have missed some.

Here's a bit of a breakdown of General Genre for you.

YA: 31Romance: 30
Juvenile Fiction: 29
Wellness/Spiritual: 23

Mystery: 16
Fantasy: 10
Historical Fiction: 9
  Horror/Suspense: 6
Regular Fiction: 3
Classics: 2
Memoirs: 1

Okay okay. To explain why I have so many Romance books. They're CHEAP. You can grab them up at a book sale for like $.50. It helps feed my apparently out of hand book buying addiction when funds are tight.

So many exciting new developments and enjoyable book adventures are coming! I'm looking forward to continuing this beautiful book journey with all of you! In closing for today's post I would like to submit the following interpretive movements representing my elation in being able to participate in such incredible literary shenanigans with all of you. *Deep breath. Moment's pause. Happy Dance.*

Until Next Blog,

Read On!

  1. Congrats on finishing Ocean at the End of the Lane! What did you think? I have yet to get around to it.

It's funny how goals seem to change, even in just a week. There's always that one book that just calls to you, despite your best laid plans.
