"Cassandra by Starlight" by Susan Mac Nicol

Salutations, booklings!

As many of you love bugs know, I don't normally post books that fall in the Adult Romance category. Why? Well, because generally I don't enjoy them myself. However, this one didn't sound too shabby and I know that some of you readers do really enjoy Romance novels.

So here you go. Award winning "Cassandra by Starlight" by Susan Mac Nicol

Cassandra by Starlight

Title: Cassandra by Starlight
Author: Susan Mac Nicol
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Suspense
Publisher: Boroughs Publishing Group

Excerpt: Chapter One

Synopsis: Falling in love makes Cassie Wallace’s everyday and normal life much more complicated that she’d ever thought it could be.

Being an independent and somewhat unconventional woman, she’d never intended to fall head over heels for a handsome, charming and younger man, one who lived a life she’d only ever imagined before on the big screen.

But Bennett Saville, up and coming star of theatre and film and filthy rich to boot, was one such man. From the tips of his shiny Armani loafers to the auburn curls on his head, he turns Cassie’s world upside down. From their initial tragic meeting to the dangers that threaten them both as their relationship grows more intense, Cassie finds herself a willing participant in Bennett’s world. She learns about a life in show business and living with a man who is constantly on show to the world – not to mention having to face the fact that women throw themselves at him with regular abandon.

Cassie embraces the challenges as only she can, in her usual feisty fashion, lending humour and compassion to their developing relationship. And when violence and fear comes calling for them both, it takes the two of them to hold the dangers at bay and face the events together.

 Auggie's Goals

I'm going to go lite this time. The last round my goals were 7 books in 7 days with a video review for each book. That was WAY difficult. Because my schedule is more hectic my goals are as follows:

5 books to read - 3 of my choice, and 2 review works that have been sent to me.
3 update Vlogs  - I'll post regular blog updates daily, but I also goal to have 3 update VLOGS as well.

Time Devoted to Reading

Because I've been dealing with a lot of big transitions lately there hasn't been as much focus on sitting down and reading like I used to. Now that I'm finally getting settled (I'll be moved in to my new apartment by the time the Read-A-Thon stars!) It's time for me to dig back in to that TBR pile of mine!

My goal is to read every day for at least two hours.

So?! What are you waiting for?!  The sign up linky is going up TOMORROW! Get your sign up post ready! Meet great readers and bloggers and challenge yourself with a read-a-thon frenzy!

Until Next Blog,

Book Gathering #26

Hello my peaches!

It's been a crazy week so far but I've happily been writing reviews (off computer) and I'm giddy with joy at the prospect of finally getting Auggie-Talk back to where I had originally wanted it to be!

I locked my keys in my parent's house this weekend, and they were out of town! Then I left my laptop somewhere totally random and had to wait overnight to get it back. So my laptop was unavailable to me for a few days. That being said I now give you an AUGGIE-TALK BOOK GATHERING a few days late.

Book Gathering #26

I'm currently participating in two great haul memes hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Books, Biscuits, and Tea.

Please give these two lovely blogs a look see and participate in these great meme adventures!

Auggie-Talk Book Gathering Vlog

This book gathering is dedicated to someone who was very special to me that is no longer traveling through this life. He's moved on to the next big adventure. I wish him all of the love and happiness he can stand in the next life and will miss him dearly.

Title: Dead Ever After
Author: Charlaine Harris
Genre: Adult Paranormal
Release Date:  May 7, 2013
Pages: 352

Sookie Stackhouse has one last adventure in store.

Life has taken her from a waitress in Merlotte’s Bar, Bon Temps, to part owner; from social outcast to the heart of her community; from a vampire’s girlfriend to the wife of one of the most powerful vampires in the state. She has survived earthquakes, revolutions and attempts on her life. Sookie has endured betrayal, heartbreak and grief . . . and she has emerged a little stronger, and little wiser, every time.

But with life comes new trials . . .

The question is, in the end: who will love, who will live, and who will be dead ever after?
Sookie finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut.

He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated. Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime. But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough...

Title: The House of Hades
Author: Rick Riordan
Genre: YA Mythology
Release Date: October 8, 2013

No synopsis for this book yet! And there isn't even a book cover released until May, but I had to include this book because I ADORE Rick Riordan's work and I am VERY HAPPY about this book release this year!

Title: Blood and Beauty
Author: Sarah Dunant
Genre: Historical Fiction
Release Date: July 2, 2013

Is there a family in history more dazzling, dangerous and notorious than the Borgias?

A powerhouse of the Italian Renaissance, their very name epitomizes the ruthless politics and sexual corruption of the Papacy.

The father, Pope Alexander VI, a consummate politician and a man with a voracious appetite both as Cardinal and Pope.

The younger Juan, womanizer and thug, and their lovely sister, Lucretia, whose very name has become a byword for poison, incest and intrigue.

But how much of the history about this remarkable family is actually true, and how much distorted, filtered through the age old mechanisms of political spin, propaganda and gossip?

What if the truth, the real history, is even more challenging?

"Blood & Beauty: The Borgias" is an epic novel which sets out to capture the scope, the detail, the depth, the colour and the complexity of this utterly fascinating family.

But the proposal she receives from the wealthy Lim family is for their dead son, who begins to shadow her mirror and her dreams. Set in the elaborate world of the Chinese afterlife, with its parallel ghost cities, paper servants, and monstrous bureaucracy, THE GHOST BRIDE is based on a peculiar historic custom amongst the Chinese in Malaysia called a spirit marriage.

Now, Joy must pretend to be Ink’s chosen one—his helper, his love, his something for the foreseeable future...and failure to be convincing means a painful death for them both. Swept into a world of monsters, illusion, immortal honor and revenge, Joy discovers that sometimes, there are no mistakes.
