BOUT OF BOOKS
READ-A-THON

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team

It's been a while since I participated in a Read-a-thon and I've felt kind of sluggish. I started off really good with 3 books in 3 days, but have been a little tired and get bored easily with the books I pick up. I've started 3 already... gave up on 2 (thank goodness they were borrowed and not bought) and finally settled into the 3rd.

What I need is a good fuel to get my reading-energy back up and a Read-a-thon is the perfect thing!

GOALS

This week long read-a-thon is going to give me plenty of well-needed UMPH to get my book-year resolutions back into the "go go go!" gear.

1 book a day

Monday: Vespertine (293 pgs)
Tuesday: A World Apart (ebook)
Wednesday: Darker Still (317 pgs)
Thursday: Everneath (370 pgs)
Friday: First Grave on the Right (310 pgs)
Saturday: The Hunter's Moon (274 pgs)
Sunday: Velveteen (447 pgs)

Those are some pretty tough goals. It's not that I'm setting myself up for failure, it's that I'm trying to push myself through the initial new-year slump.

Good luck, my dears!

  1. Best of luck! :) I definitely can't read one a day... unless I have no school whatsoever, XD.

  2. Wow! I'd never have thought of having a book for each day - that's such an awesome idea. I loved First Grave on the Right :) Best of luck with your goals!
