Bout Of Books Day #1 and Bestfriend/Boyfriend Challenge

Happy Monday, Book-a-thoners!

This is the official Monday update post for the Bout Of Books Read-a-thon!

The regular posting for Monday will be above this one (Got an awesome review for TEMPEST RISING today!) As the day goes on this post may change as I edit based on what I've read. It keeps me from having to make multiple posts regarding the same deal.

Just keep that in mind and here we go!

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 6.0 team

Reading Today:

Started: "The Vespertine"

Hoping to also get to: "First Grave on the Right"

You have made a scientific discovery (who knew you were so good at science?!) on how to bring fictional characters to life. The problem? The method still isn't *perfect,* so you can only bring two people to life, and they must return to the land of fiction in 30 days. Who will you choose as your bestie and your love interest for that one splendid month? (Feel free to add pictures if you like, but they are not required.)

Oh my, this is a difficult one. The two people that I want to choose are probably the two characters that would bring the MOST trouble into my life! And I don't mean the cute, adventerous kind... I mean the kind that leaves dead people on your front doorstep and sends vengeful fairy-creatures through your back window at night.

I'll just go with it...

Best Friend?  Well, since Sookie Stackhouse and I are already like sisters, it would be easiest and the most 'chill' to bring her around. I've been cheering Sookie on since Book 1 and even though I'm all aflutter over her husband Eric... I let that go because they're too good for each other. I'd invite Sookie to town during a really good Summer month so we could sunbathe and swim, preferably at a very swanky locale. Sookie would be an awesome travel partner! Not to mention she's a reader, which means no complaining over the fact that we're not doing anything that morning but chillin' by the pool/beach with some literature.

The only stipulation for her visit would be supernatural shenanigans. I'd prefer my summer (and entire year, actually) to be death and trauma free.

Guy? Yikes. This one isn't easy because I'm so picky. Not to mention I only get 30 days. This means I'd have to pick a guy that would be fun to be with... but easy to let go after a month. Yikes. Ummmmmmmmmm. *draws a blank*  I can't think of any male character that I'd be okay with just 'flinging' it with. I'm all blushy over Eric Northman but, like I said, best-friend's quasi-husband is off limits!   *sigh* Just can't decide on this one. The 30 day time limit has me pretty much deciding that I'd rather just skip the love-interest and invite Sookie over again for another month instead. ROAD TRIP!

This totally counts because this TV show has been made into a book mini-series. I WIN!

Yes, Dean is from SUPERNATURAL. If you've never seen the show... you're ridiculous. Dean is good-looking, but not usually the type I'd go fanning myself over looks wise. It's the character's personality and sarcastic humor that get me. My brothers, my dad, and I have watched this series from the very beginning so we're all pretty attached to Sam and Dean.

30 days with Dean would be pretty awesome... but because of his serious emotional damage and possible presence of some other really concerning psychological problems (okay and not to mention demons follow him wherever he goes) I'd have to say that I'd probably be ready to duck and run after a month.

But hey... give me a year to recover and maybe I'd be willing for another 30 day date.

Alright, dolls. That's all that I have for you at the moment. The Review won't be up until later this evening because I'm aching to get to reading for this challenge.

Keep an eye open though and check back later for read-a-thon updates and, of course, the Tempest Rising review.

Until Next Blog,

Read On!
