Follow Friday and Reading Update

Hello my bookish loves!

It's another Friday already?! This Christmas season thing has me all upside down on what day it is.

Not to mention I'm in the middle of two VERY good books, and one... not so good one.

A little bit of an explanation, then FOLLOW FRIDAY with parajunkee and alisoncanread!

Currently Reading
I am IN LOVE with this book! I'm nearly halfway finished
and I can hardly keep my hands off of it. Every spare second
I get to read right now is all about this book. I've already got my
hands on the second in the series "Shadows of Night".

I was very skeptical about whether or not I would find t his
book interesting. This is absolutely not the type of book I
normally pick up. I love when books prove me wrong!
I am so enthralled by this story, the authors writing style, and
the mix of dark mystery and humor. I'm glad I listened to
the stranger who recommended it!

I am absolutely hating this one, but I'm forcing myself
onward, hoping that the book will get better as the
story progresses. Right now I am not expecting much.
Who knows, maybe the book will surprise me in a few
more chapters. Or... maybe not.

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by parajunkee and alisoncanread! I hope you'll join this great little Find and Follow party!

Q: What is the last book that made you cry? Tell us about the scene…

Oh, yikes. This is a toughee. It takes a REALLY REALLY good book to bring me to tears. I guess the last one that managed to evoke some kind of misty eyed reaction was "Picture The Dead"

In the beginning I felt so sorry for the main character who was faced with losing her brother AND her fiance in the violence of the Civil War. The way the character reacted, and the way all of that hit her all at once... I guess my eyes kind of watered up a little.

My last memorable cry was over Harry Potter and that was years and years ago. I've read some great great great ones since then, but I can't remember crying.

Like I said... it takes a really, really good book to have my emotions hooked like that. I guess I just haven't read a good good book lately where any one of the loved characters dies. I'm not sure whether to be happy or disappointed about that.

Well, that's all for this Friday, love doves.

Until Next Blog,
