Spring Reading Affair: Escapade Library and More Resources!

Hello my readers!

You are meeting an absolutely giddy Auggie today!

The temperatures here have somehow managed to find their way into the 70's and I am BASKING, I tell you, BASKING in the feel of the warm sun on my skin again! While cold weather does make me want to curl up with a nice cup of tea and a good book... it also makes me sleepy.

Warm weather puts so much energy in my veins sometimes I'm not sure how Mr. J can handle it! But I turn that energy into reading power, so there you go!

I am itching to do a review but I'm going to put that off for today to bring you ESCAPADE LIBRARY and also more very wonderful online resources for all of your readishing needs!

I bounced out to the local library yesterday to pick up a few books. Some of the ones I wanted were on hold, so I plowed through my TBR list and landed a few.

The Tiger's Wife

In a Balkan country mending form years of conflict, Natalia, a young doctor,
arrives on a mission of mercy at an orphanage by the sea. By the time she and
her lifelong friend Zora being to inoculate the children there, she feels age-old
supersitions and secrets gathering everywhere around her. Secrets her outwardly
cheerful hosts have chosen not to tell her. Secrets involving the strange
family digging for something in the surrounding vineyards.
Secrets hidden in the landscape itself.

"The Tiger's Wife" is one of the Bookworm Bitches Bookclub's (Oooh, I love it!) books of the month. I had been meaning to read this for a while and finally rounded myself up to check it out. If you are reading this book, or are thinking of reading it, and would like to join the discussion come and join us at BOOKWORM BITCHES on

"Named for a flower whose blood-red sap possesses
the power both to heal and poison, Bloodroot is a stunning
fiction debut about the legacies - of magic and madness,
faith and secrets, passion and loss - that haunt
one family across the generations, from the
Great Depression to today."
This was another bookclub read that I snatched up. You can join the discussion at

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother
Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother is the unerringly honest, often hilarious,
and always provocativestory of one mother's adventure in extreme parenting.
Totally at odds with Western parentalindulgence, Amy Chua has made an
iron-willed decisionto raise her daughters, Sophia and Lulu, the Chinese way.

This non-fiction book is simply one that I've wanted to pick up ever since I read a review about it in a random lit magazine (I can't even remember the name of it!) I was poking through at my local book seller. I'm very excited to read this book because I know that I'll have plenty of my own opinion to share. I expect this to be a very interesting and eyeopening read.
